La liste des nominés pour la 62e édition des Grammys Awards est enfin connue et on sait désormais les personnes qui prétendent au célèbre trophée, dans 84 catégories. Les nominations ont été annoncées hier mercredi 20 Novembre 2019 au cours d’une conférence de presse au Studio 43 du CBS Broadcast center à New York aux Etats-Unis.

Elle a été dirigée par Deborah Dugan présidente et directrice générale de l’Académie, la chanteuse américaine et gagnante des Grammy Awards, Alicia Key, l’artiste Bebe Rexa, ainsi que le président du Conseil d’administration Harvey Mason. La conférence de presse a été diffusée sur CBS This Morning. Parmi les nominés on retrouve deux grands artistes africains de renom à savoir : la béninoise Angélique Kidjo et le nigérian Burna Boy.
Ces derniers entrent en lice dans la catégorie Meilleur Album de Musique du Monde. Le chanteur entre dans la compétition avec son album Giant of Africa, et Angélique Kidjo avec Celia. Notons que toutes les catégories présentes dans la compétition, honorent une panoplie de réalisations dans le domaine musical. Au nombre des catégories, on dénombre notamment : le R&B, le rap, la comédie, la musique parlée, la pop et le classique.
